Juicy Honey Garlic Pork Chops with caramelised edges are ready and on your table in less than 15 minutes! Smothered in a super easy four-ingredient sauce, this pork chop recipe can’t get any easier.
This honey garlic pork chops recipe uses boneless or bone-in chops that are so lip-smacking good and fast that you won’t believe it when they’re done! No marinating is needed; a little less fuss than our BBQ baked pork chops, this quick recipe for honey garlic pork chops will be ready in minutes.
One of my absolute favourite components of these honey garlic pork chops are the crispy glazed edges you get when the chops are cooked to perfection. Sweet and caramelised, there’s no doubt you’ll be going back for seconds!
Seared until golden and finished in the oven, basted in the most amazing honey garlic sauce, you’ll never want to try another recipe (unless of course, it’s our honey garlic salmon). As far as pork chop recipes go, this has to be one of our favorites!
HONEY GARLIC PORK CHOPS
The people have asked and we have answered! The demand for this recipe has been overwhelming. Honey garlic sauce makes everything better. Giving us a delightful combination of salty, sweet and creamy, each bite of juicy, tender pork melts in your mouth. The same goes for our honey garlic butter shrimp and our browned butter honey garlic chicken.
Easy pork chop recipes can be hard to come by, but this quick recipe for honey garlic pork chops will make you feel like a pro in the kitchen. Using just a few simple ingredients from your pantry, your pork chops will be packed with flavour. You can stop looking because your search for pork chop recipes is over!
HOW TO AVOID DRY PORK CHOPS
To achieve the ultimate tender pork chops like our creamed spinach stuffed pork chops and our pork chops with creamy mushroom sauce, sear all of your pork chops in a skillet or oven-proof pan first. Then finish off under the broiler (or grill) for a couple of minutes to achieve those crispy edges. That last step is so worth it!
Boneless or bone-in chops can be used.
Season chops just before cooking to ensure they stay tender and juicy while cooking.
Preheat your heavy-based pan or skillet and get it nice and hot before adding your chops.
Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until crisp and golden.
This is the best cooking method for pork chops, making sure to transfer them to your oven to get those incredible crispy charred edges!
The juices in the honey garlic pork chops are released into the sauce while broiling, creating even more flavour and a greater quantity of sauce to serve with your pork.
HOW TO MAKE HONEY GARLIC SAUCE FOR PORK CHOPS
How long should you marinate pork chops? Good news – you don’t have to!
Melt butter in the same pan where the pork was seared to keep those flavours in the sauce, then add the rest of your ingredients.
Cook until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes). Don’t cook for too long, or the honey will reduce ultimately, leaving you with a dry pan. (If that happens, make another batch of sauce only to serve with later.)
Baste pork generously with the sauce, then broil/grill for 1-2 minutes or until edges are slightly charred.
Similar flavours are also featured in my garlic butter salmon in foil recipe, as well as my honey garlic butter which is perfect for dipping.

Easy Honey Garlic Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops bone-in or boneless
- 1 pinch salt to season
- 1 pinch pepper to season
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup water or chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar, or any white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler (or grill) to medium-high heat. Season the chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before cooking.
- Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear chops until golden on each side and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes on each side). Transfer to a plate; set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in the same pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add the honey, water, and vinegar. Increase heat to medium-high and continue to cook until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes) while stirring occasionally.
- Add pork back to the pan, baste generously with the sauce, and broil/grill for 1-2 minutes or until edges are slightly charred.
- Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta, or salad.
Notes
Baked Pork Chops:
- Preheat oven to 390°F | 200°C.
- Sear seasoned chops in a hot oven-proof pan or skillet over medium-high for 2 minutes per side -- get them crisp.
- Remove chops and make your sauce following the recipe above (Step 3).
- Baste with sauce and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until you reach your desired doneness.
- Broil/grill for 2 minutes to get those caramelized edges!

My go-to recipe for boneless pork chops (tip: best deal for those is from Costco). I do the oven method–just pour the sauce over the chops in a Pyrex dish. My additions to this excellent recipe are a bit more garlic (at least 8 or 9 cloves because you can never have too much garlic), as well as a few of splashes of Don Benigno sherry. I use sherry vinegar as well.

I made these for dinner tonight and they were a hit with the hub and me. I followed the recipe except I added a spoonful of flour to help thicken up the sauce and a few dashes of hot sauce. I’ll make these again.
