An easy pork chop recipe
The demand for this recipe has been overwhelming! Since publishing my Easy Honey Garlic Chicken recipe years ago, many emails asking for a pork chops version have been crazy! It’s crazy good because this recipe is one of the best pork recipes ever. Delicious, juicy, and tender chops that melt in your mouth.
Just look at the colour! I know you have all the ingredients in your pantry to make this for dinner. The seasoning alone is packed with flavour.
You will not regret serving these Pork Chops to your family.
What is the best way to cook pork chops without them drying out?
All seared in a skillet or oven-proof pan first, then finished off under the broiler (or grill) for a couple of minutes to get those crisp edges. That last step is so worth it!
Boneless OR Bone-In chops can be used.
Season chops just before cooking to ensure they stay tender and juicy while cooking.
Preheat your heavy-based pan or skillet and get it nice and hot before adding your chops.
Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until crisp and golden.
This is the best cooking method for pork chops! Transferring them to your oven to get those incredible crispy charred edges!
The juices in the chops are released into the sauce while broiling, creating even more flavour and a greater quantity of sauce to serve with your pork.
Pork chop marinade — no marinating needed!
Melt butter in the same pan where the pork was seared to keep those flavours in the sauce, then add the rest of your ingredients.
Cook until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes). Don’t cook for too long, or the honey will reduce ultimately, leaving you with a dry pan. (If that happens, make another batch of sauce only to serve with later.)
Baste pork generously with the sauce, then broil/grill for 1-2 minutes or until edges are slightly charred.

Easy Honey Garlic Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 pork chops bone-in or boneless
- Salt and pepper to season
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water (or chicken broth)
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar (or apple cider vinegar, or any white vinegar)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven broiler (or grill) to medium-high heat. Season the chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder before cooking.
- Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear chops until golden on each side and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes on each side). Transfer to a plate; set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Melt butter in the same pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Sauté garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add the honey, water, and vinegar. Increase heat to medium-high and continue to cook until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes) while stirring occasionally.
- Add pork back to the pan, baste generously with the sauce, and broil/grill for 1-2 minutes or until edges are slightly charred.
- Garnish with parsley and serve over vegetables, rice, pasta, or salad.
Notes
Baked Pork Chops:
- Preheat oven to 390°F | 200°C.
- Sear seasoned chops in a hot oven-proof pan or skillet over medium-high for 2 minutes per side -- get them crisp.
- Remove chops and make your sauce following the recipe above (Step 3).
- Baste with sauce and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until you reach your desired doneness.
- Broil/grill for 2 minutes to get those caramelized edges!

It was a hot day so I tried this recipe on the BBQ. I just mixed up all the ingredients, put them into a large zip lock. I seasoned the boneless chops with salt and left for 30 min, then added to the zip lock where it sat on the counter for 40 mins. I basted the chops on the grill for apx 10 min and while I’m not sure how the original recipe/ cooking instructions taste, this ended up fantastic! Husband requested I add it to my home screen recipe saves. Delicious!

I don’t have a broiler, so I just let the chops sit in the sauce for a bit before serving. Next time I’d prefer to slice the chops and then get them in the sauce. They were delicious on rice with a side of spicy green beans. I haven’t seen my husband clean his plate down to the last grain of rice for a long time. This sauce was easy and delicious.

An excellent dish prepared by the pan fry method. My family is very fussy but there were no leftovers tonight. The sauce went well with the chops and broccoli. Next time, I will double the sauce and add a bed of rice with the extra sauce.
