Chocolate cravings do not always need baking trays, timers, or commitment. These Simple Nutella Quesadillas are what happens when you want dessert now and still want it to feel intentional. Crisp tortillas, warm Nutella, and that golden pan toasting moment that smells way fancier than the effort involved.
This is one of those nutella recipes that earns a permanent spot in your back pocket. It works as a late night nutella snack, a last minute dessert, or a cheeky dessert quesadilla when guests suddenly want something sweet but you definitely are not baking.

What Makes This Recipe Work
- Fast but deliberate. The pan toasted method gives you crisp edges and melted centres without turning soggy or rushed.
- Portion friendly indulgence. You get all the Nutella satisfaction without committing to a full blown dessert.
- Textural contrast done right. Soft inside, golden outside, and just enough structure to slice cleanly.
- Endlessly adaptable. It is a base recipe that welcomes add ins without losing its simplicity.
- Minimal cleanup. One pan, one spatula, zero regrets.
What Goes Into Nutella Quesadilla

With just a few simple ingredients, you can make this Nutella Quesadilla in minutes. Here are the essentials you’ll need for the perfect melty, golden treat:
- Mini Flour Tortillas: Soft and flexible, they crisp up beautifully when toasted, creating the perfect shell for your filling. Choose white or whole wheat depending on your preference.
- Nutella: The star of the show, Nutella brings that iconic chocolate-hazelnut flavor. For a lighter option, you can swap it with a hazelnut cacao spread.
- Butter or Cooking Spray: A light coat on the skillet helps the tortillas turn golden and crisp without sticking.
- Optional Toppings: Fresh fruit, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or a scoop of ice cream can turn this into an even more indulgent dessert quesadilla.
Note: Please see recipe card at the bottom for a full list of ingredients with measurements.
Add Ins and Substitutions You Will Want To Try
These options layer in texture or contrast without overpowering the Nutella.
- Sliced Banana: Adds softness and natural sweetness that pairs beautifully with chocolate.
- Fresh Strawberries: Bright and slightly tart for balance.
- Mini Marshmallows: Melty and nostalgic without going full dessert chaos.
- Chopped Hazelnuts: Brings crunch and reinforces the Nutella flavour profile.
- Cinnamon Sugar: Dust lightly after cooking for churro energy.
How To Make Nutella Quesadilla

- Prep and Fill: Warm a nonstick skillet over medium heat and mist with cooking oil spray. Spread 2 tablespoons Nutella over half of each mini tortilla, then fold to seal.

- Cook and Serve: Cook quesadillas 1 to 2 minutes until golden and Nutella is melted. Cut in halves and serve with fruit, berries, cream, ice cream, or plain.
A Nutella Quesadilla is indulgent on its own, but pairing it with something fresh and fun makes the experience even better. A bright Honey Lime Fruit Salad adds a refreshing citrusy kick and lightens up the richness of the chocolate-hazelnut filling, making every bite feel perfectly balanced.
For a playful twist, serve it alongside a scoop of Instant Blueberry Frozen Yogurt , where the cool tangy flavor contrasts beautifully with the warm quesadilla. And if you really want to go all out, add a few Strawberry Cheesecake Donut Holes for a creamy, tangy-sweet treat that turns this simple dessert into a memorable spread.
Pro Tips From the Pan
- Keep the heat medium. Too hot and the tortilla browns before the Nutella melts.
- Spread Nutella evenly but not too thick or it will leak when warmed.
- Let the quesadilla rest for about 30 seconds before slicing to keep the filling in place.
- Serve immediately. This recipe is all about contrast and timing.

I tried this recipe and it is so good. I also added vanilla ice cream on top of the quesadillas.
Such an easy recipe to follow! Perfect for midnight snack!
It’s even better if you use sweet Hawaiian tortillas!!! I use the little street taco ones and it’s incredible 🙂 a sprinkle of salt along with the powdered sugar is really good too or instead you could use a pad of salted butter to fry them along with the oil 😋😋😋😋
I spread Nutella in a tortilla cut up marshmallows fold the sides in then up like a pocket ad put in the toaster so good
That sounds like the best dish ever
I just made this, because I had bought some then I looked up recipes and I found this. All I do cause I’m lazy is a dampish paper towel and wrap it with the tortillas and microwave it for 30 seconds and put Nutella in it. Thanks!

I’m definitely going to try this! Looks fantastic.
I recently cooked chicken stuffed quesadillas myself. Seeing your recipe gave me the great idea to have a sweet type of “quesadilla” next time on the side for dessert! This Nutella concept would be perfect. I will definitely be trying this out soon and adding some bananas and strawberries as well!
