Easy Croissant French Toast Casserole can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning! Impress your family with a decadent breakfast.
There’s no better way to serve Croissants. Buttery, flaky croissants soak up a full flavoured egg wash to give you perfect, soft-in-the-middle croissant French Toast with a crispy golden crust. The best of both worlds!
Incredibly easy, this may just be better than our regular French Toast. Let your oven do all the work for you!
CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST
If you’re craving good French toast but even more decadent… this is the recipe! Of course, you could whip up a French Toast Casserole using regular bread, but why use regular ol’ bread when you can use buttery croissants!
If we have anything in common, it’s gotta be our love for croissants because, well, croissants are everything. In something like this though, they are even better.
Almost like a bread and butter pudding, this croissant French toast recipe is wet and silky on the inside and crispy on the outside. Surprisingly easy to throw together without having to stand at the stove watching a hot pan, flipping and maybe burning your breakfast (because Orange Creamsicle Mimosas may or may not be going down).
HOW TO MAKE CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST
- Make an egg wash with milk, heavy cream (or thickened cream), eggs, sugar, pure vanilla extract and a touch of cinnamon.
- Slice your croissants in half horizontally and place the bottoms in your baking dish. You will need a 9×13-inch dish.
- Pour half of the egg wash over the croissant halves.
- Drizzle with real (pure) Canadian maple syrup.
- Top with remaining croissants.
- Pour remaining egg wash over croissants.
- Lightly press them in the egg wash to soak them completely.
- Dust with ground cinnamon and vanillin sugar.
- Refrigerate overnight OR bake!
WHAT TO SERVE WITH CROISSANT FRENCH TOAST
As soon as your croissant French toast comes out of the oven, dust with powdered sugar and a drizzle of real maple syrup. Scoop out some ice cream, serve with a beautiful Honey Lime Fruit Salad and allow it to transport you to another world.
Despite how undeniably delicious it is, this croissant French toast recipe is as simple as it gets.
MAKE AHEAD
Preparing it the night before means breakfast or brunch the next morning is a breeze! If you don’t want to be stressed out and rushing around while trying to entertain people, this croissant french toast recipe makes life so much easier!
Simply assemble and refrigerate until ready to bake, then bake and serve. Beautifully simple and delicious!

This was AMAZING! Made it for “brinner” last night as a special treat, and my family raved. My in-laws are coming for Easter this year, and my husband said we should for sure have this for Easter brunch. Love that I can make it the night before and just pop it in the oven after church! Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe!

French toast made with croissants, brilliant. The New Year’s morning breakfast in the making. I’ll make it the morning of the 31st for the 1st. My croissants that I’ll buy today when I do my Christmas run won’t be 12 days old. Does that matter?
Megan says
I think she means 12, day old croissants.

I was puzzling over this. Thanks!
