These Homemade Crispy Fries are everything you want in the perfect side dish—crispy, golden brown on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside (thanks to a special cooking method), and seasoned just right.
Whether you’re serving them on their own or pairing with your favorite meal, they’re easy to make, extra crispy, and guaranteed to disappear fast.

Why These Crispy Fries Work So Well?
Getting Crispy Fries this crispy isn’t luck—it’s technique. The secret lies in the chilling method: the potatoes are soaked in ice water to remove excess starch, then briefly boiled and chilled again. This double-cooling process helps them stay fluffy on the inside while crisping beautifully on the outside.
When they hit the hot oil, the result is golden, crunchy fries with a soft, pillowy center. It’s the kind of texture you only get with care—and once you try it, you’ll never go back!
My favourite thing to have alongside this is my Sticky Thai Chicken Wings or if I’m feeling something a bit lighter I opt for my Honey Mustard Chicken Salad With Bacon & Avocado
Ingredients
The secret to these Crispy Fries lies in the quality of the ingredients.
- Potatoes: Choose starchy or all-purpose potatoes for that perfect crispy exterior and fluffy inside. These are the base that holds all the flavors together.
- Parsley: Fresh parsley brightens the dish with a hint of herbal freshness.
- Salt & Pepper: Of course, a staple with any fries

How To Make Crispy Fries
There are a lot of Crispy Fries Recipe but many of them leave you with soggy, oven baked sad looking fries but, just like how my Sausage Rolls taste similar to a bakery, it’s surprisingly easy to make this at home to the same quality for game day!
- Prep the Potatoes: Peel the potatoes, Place them in ice water, let chill for 30 minutes. Soaking in ice water pulls surface starch off the potatoes. This prevents them from sticking together and helps them crisp up when fried.
- Cook the Potatoes: now cut the potatoes in thin strips, put them into a pot of boiling water with salt, cook the potatoes for 5 minutes. Immediately transfer them back into ice water to stop the cooking. Once cooled, place them in the freezer to chill.
- Fry the Potatoes: Deep-fry in oilat 350°F (175°C) until they float and are golden (about 10-15 minutes). Then remove and place on plate with paper towel to drain
- Serve! Grab a bowl and top your Crispy Fries with salt and pepper or chicken salt

Yes, but they’ll be less fluffy inside and might take longer to cook. The two-step (boil + fry) method gives Crispy Fries the best texture.
