I mean, is there anything better than a warm, buttery piece of garlic bread? Actually, yes. Regular garlic bread is great… but this one? Soft and fluffy inside, golden and crispy on the edges, and loaded with just the right amount of garlic, butter, and cheese. It’s the kind of cheesy bread you’ll crave long after the last slice is gone.

What Makes This Cheesy Garlic Bread Work
This isn’t just any cheesy garlic bread. It’s soft on the inside, crispy on the edges, and loaded with just the right balance of garlic, butter, and cheese.
The flavor is bold but not overwhelming, and the bread stays crisp without going soggy. Baked until golden and bubbly, this easy cheesy garlic bread is everything you want in a side dish or a snack.
What Goes Into This Cheesy Garlic Bread
This Cheesy Garlic Bread recipe uses simple, clean ingredients to deliver that perfect slushy texture and zesty flavor. It’s everything you love about a margarita—just colder, fresher, and more fun
- French Bread: A sturdy loaf like French or Italian bread is perfect. It stays soft inside while getting beautifully crisp on the edges.
- Unsalted Butter: Softened butter melts into the bread, bringing rich flavor and helping the garlic and herbs stick.
- Garlic: Fresh chopped garlic gives this bread its bold, classic punch. Minced or finely chopped both work great here.
- Mozzarella and Parmesan: The dream team of cheeses. Mozzarella adds that gooey melt, while parmesan brings sharp, salty flavor and a golden finish.
Note: Please see recipe card for a full list of ingredients with measurements.
How To Make This Cheesy Garlic Bread
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Place the bread halves cut-side up on the sheet.
- Make the Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, garlic, fresh parsley, and salt until well combined.
- Assemble the Bread: Spread the butter over both halves, making sure to go right to the edges. Top with mozzarella and parmesan, then sprinkle with parsley.
- Bake and Broil: Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Broil for 2 minutes more to crisp up the top. Slice and serve warm.

Recipe FAQ’s
Absolutely. Skip the cheese and just use the garlic butter for a classic garlic bread recipe. Still delicious, just a little less indulgent.
You can, but freshly shredded cheese melts better and gives you a creamier, more gooey finish. Totally worth the extra couple of minutes.
Minced garlic in a jar works in a pinch. You can also use garlic powder — about 1 to 1 ½ teaspoons — just adjust to taste.

I made this with Ciabatta – as that was all I had, and it so so good. Everyone loved it and my husband is looking forward to get again. Thank you!
I’ve tried many garlic bread recipes in the past with most of them being failures, but this one knocked it out of the park!! It reminded me a lot Texas Toast garlic bread which is exactly what I wanted. Everyone at dinner loved it!
Imo, these are a little too good. I accidentally mixed a bit of shredded mozzerella into the paste which I spread on both sides of the bread, which crisped the bottom. 🙂
yeah this bread wasn’t to bad, probably could do with a tad more garlic but that comes down to personal preference, ( or it was the garlic paste i used not sure).
So when I saw this I just had to try it, looked too good. Made some French bread first attempt at that as well and went ahead with this. It was amazing and on point, barely five minutes and my tray of two portions were all eaten up and everyone was full of smiles. Thank you ☺️ everyone give it a try
Made this last night to go with the Balsamic Baked Chicken Breasts. Yet another big hit! My wife is starting to think that I know what I’m doing in the kitchen, thanks to Karina.
