Creamy Herb Chicken
Accidentally, and incidentally, this recipe is low carb AND gluten free with just under 5g carbs per serve! What did I do? Picture this: Juicy, tender chicken breasts, simmered in a flavourful and creamy herb sauce with a hint of garlic — HELLO — easy weekday meal.
The BEST sauce
So thick and creamy, this creamy herb sauce pairs perfectly over rice, pasta, or Creamy Mashed Potatoes. To keep the entire meal low carb, try it over cauliflower mash!
If you know me by now, I don’t need to apologise for this recipe being cooked in the one pan, right? I’m ADDICTED to one pan creamy chicken recipes. We have Piccata’s and Sun Dried Tomato chickens flying around all over the place.
Just like those recipes, this whole thing is super easy BUT loaded with flavour.
How To Make Creamy Chicken
First, you’re going to season you chicken in ALL the herbs. For this recipe, I chose:
You can use Tarragon, or Basil with Oregano if you prefer.
Fry said chicken breasts > remove from pan > make creamy sauce > lick your fingers. See? E.A.S.Y.
After that, you can smother your fillets with the sauce and serve over any side you desire!

Creamy Herb Chicken
For The Chicken:
- 4 chicken breasts (pounded 1/2-inch thin)
- 2 teaspoons each of onion powder and garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried rosemary*
- salt and pepper , to season
For The Sauce:
- 4 cloves garlic , minced (or 1 tablespoon minced garlic)
- 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon each of dried thyme and dried rosemary
- 1 cup milk (or half and half)*
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper , to taste
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water , until smooth
- Coat chicken breasts with the onion and garlic powders and herbs. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil a large pan or skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken breasts until opaque and no longer pink inside (about 5 minutes each side, depending on thickness). Transfer to a plate; set aside.
- To the same pan or skillet, heat another 2 teaspoons of olive oil and sauté garlic, with parsley, thyme and rosemary, for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
- Stir in milk (or cream); season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Bring to a boil; add the cornstarch mixture to the centre of the pan, quickly stirring, until sauce has thickened slightly. Reduce heat and simmer gently for a further minute to allow the sauce to thicken more.
- Return chicken to the skillet. Sprinkle with extra herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
**For a dairy free option, I find Cashew milk the best in flavour. You can also use almond milk or rice milk.
Yes, heavy cream can be substituted!
Like so many others, this was a “Oh-Oh! It’s-5:00-and-I-Don’t-Have-a-Plan-for-Dinner” discovery! The house smelled amazing while it cooked! (I felt like a gourmet chef!) This meal was a HUGE success and easy to make! My teenagers scarfed it down and requested it be added to my fix-again list. Thank you for sharing!
Super quick and delicious! We used heavy cream and I eyeballed the seasonings. We served this over buttered noodles with green beans and it was amazing! I will be adding this to the cookbook. (:
Great recipe. I wanted to add pasta to it so I doubled the milk/cream and starch but not the herbs. Turned out great. Wish I could post a picture lol
Excellent! Cooking three times a day for months on end has really burned me out. Tired of uninspired dinners, I found this recipe at 5 pm and was delighted that I had every ingredient on hand (except the parsley so I used dried) and had dinner on the table in no time! It was so nice having a creamy sauce made with 2% milk. Definitely will make again and have shared it with friends. Thank you!
Great recipe for when the cupboard is bare. I needed a simple recipe as I didn’t have any cream and just some chicken to use up. This was quick and easy to make and very delicious. I added a bit of mustard to add some depth to the sauce but otherwise didn’t need to make adjustments. I served it over some fettuccine.
This recipe was so simple, quick and delicious. My extremely picky husband – who only ate 2 chicken dishes prior to this – told me, “You hit a home run with this one!” I have to admit I used heavy cream (omitted cornstarch), but it was worth it. Next time I’ll try using half and half. Thank you.
This went down so well with the whole family, even my 7 month old! And it was super easy to prepare. We had it with roast potatoes this time but thinking rice next time. 5 star

This was so good! My kids always bring home their friends after practice, so the night I made this I decided to x4 the recipe just in case. Initially I had 3 extra teenagers, but by the time we cleaned dinner up I had 9. I served it with mash potatoes and steamed vegetables. The sauce over mash potatoes were incredible! The kids could not get enough of it and have begged me to make it again, which I plan to do tonight.
Thank you so much for this recipe!
I had cooked my chicken in the instant pot earlier during they day and was ooking for something to use it for. I came across this recipe and it looked good so I just doubled the sauce recipe and served it over my instant pot chicken and mashed potatoes and it was so good! Thank you so much for sharing such a great tasting sauce! Hubby loved it too! It went in our “do over” list.
Sara D says
Cooked this up because I barely had anything in the pantry and it turned out great. I subbed in a flour and water mixture as per one of the comments and maybe I didn’t stir it in fast enough but it did clump a little in a way I don’t think corn starch would have. I also dumped in some shredded parm, and served roasted carrots and peas on the side.
Overall, SUPER simple dish I’ll for sure be making again. Big hit at dinner tonight.
This was wonderful. I stuck to the recipe but made one and a half times the sauce so there would be plenty for leftovers and added 2 packets of sazon sin anchiotte to the sauce. I also used crushed garlic rather than whole cloves because that was all I had. It was great and everyone loved it. Thank you for the recipe … it’s a keeper and VERY easy!!!
Ashley Pattillo says
This recipe is amazingggggggggg!!! I added diced tomatoes and This is for sure gonna be a recipe I use for life ! Probably would’ve been really good with pasta noodles ! I didn’t have rosemary but it still turned out so good . 10/10
Amy Canaday says
This was a winner! First of all, I *LOVE* that you can modify recipe size right here on the site! What a time saver! I had cream, so that’s what I used and it was amazing. I did, in fact, try to follow the recipe (at least on the first try, haha!). To my surprise, it was NOT too much thyme or rosemary to use in both the sauce and on the chicken, as directed. I used dried parsley instead of fresh – again, it’s what I had. Served over mashed potatoes. And, WOW! Easy, delicious, and we WILL have it again. Thanks so much!
Yes, so versatile. I added Parmesan to the sauce and shallots (went well with the herbs and cream).Had it with sauté potatoes and green beans, so nice and very Italian! Try that next time ☺️
Made this for dinner tonight and my kids were done eating in about 5 minutes flat and raved about how delicious it was!
Julie P says
I made this as a meal prep recipe and it was fabulous. My husband adored this recipe and wanted to lick the sauce out of the pan afterward. I used heavy whipping cream. Only thing is, next time I’ll make more sauce because I used a bunch when I ate the first chicken breast and I won’t have nearly enough for the other three.
It was amazing I would make again but I think it needed some bacon and seasoning salt other than that perfect
Can you use boneless pork chops for this recipe?
Very good, easy meal! I happened to have all the makings and and wanted to try something different, so I gave it a whirl. My sauce was brown though…maybe because I used olive oil? Served with mash potatoes. Awesome!
Yes – I think I will try this with pork chops. That sounds wonderful.
Thumbs up on this recipe. I cut down on the herbs in the onion and garlic powder (though it may have been overpowering) I also reduced some white wine before adding cream (no milk) for a richer sauce. Thank you for the recipe, its a keeper.
This was delicious! My husband is very hard to please and he said this was restaurant quality. I made it with mashed potatoes. Perfectly seasoned. Thank you for an excellent recipient!
This was so easy and soooooo good! I will definitely make this again! My husband and kids all agreed this is something you’d get at a quality restaurant. Thank you!
I made this recipe a few nights ago and it was absolutely delicious! We will be making this again & often!!
I did not have parsley but used dried basil instead, also added a tablespoon of dijon mustard with the milk, and did not have cornflour so used flour which thickened it just fine (mixed 2 teaspoons of flour with 2 teaspoons of cold water, it will turn into a type of paste).
Lisa H says
Great tasing recipe! We added a 1/2 cup of white wine at the end because I thought it needed a “little something more.” My hubby said it was restaurant quality!
Wow. So easy so quick so delicious. It’s cool because if I don’t want to go to the store I can just substitute a few herbs. The rest is all about the sauce. So so so good! High five. Used it for mother’s day dinner and blew her away
Wow! So fast and easy! I had to take my chicken breasts off the pan and cube them up quickly because they were to thick and weren’t cooking inside. It still turned out great! We had it over pasta, my fiancé and I loved it! It will be a weekly meal from now on!
Lucy Lou says
Cooked this meal with my family had it with new potatoes and runner bean it was lovely. It was a quick meal to prepare and cook. The family really enjoyed it and asked for the recipe. I have also recommended my friends to cook it. Next time when I cook it I would do more sauce.
This was absolutely delicious! My husband said he’d like it every week! I’m so glad it was the first recipe that popped up when I searched “easy chicken recipe”. It definitely is easy and quick!
Delicious! This will be a weekly meal in my house. It was so flavorful. Husband, 9 & 11 year old daughters approved. Followed the recipe, used half & half. Will take a risk and try skim (or 2%) next time for less fat… thank you
Holly Yeatman says
I followed this recipe exactly. I really loved this recipe. It was full of flavor. For some reason, my sauce did not thicken much-maybe too hasty? Anyway the family loved it!
Mike McGuire says
So good! I had some thin-sliced chicken breast I needed to use, and I love cream sauces, so I discovered this recipe. I took a chance on a work night and made it for my dinner and next day’s lunch. Wow! I love this chicken! I can’t wait to make it again, next time maybe for my girlfriend or my mother.
Really delicious and EASY to make!
I was never a big fan of chicken until I tried this recipe! Easy to cook even for me!
Hi! I was looking for a creamy chicken and wild rice bake recipe and came across. Looks and sounds delish! Am I able to just throw all of these ingredients together along with some uncooked wild rice into one dish and just bake it? If so, do I need to make any modifications? I’m a new mom so the more one-dish bake recipes I have, the better! Lol
I am a new mom as well, and I recommend buying the packaged wild rice that you can heat up in the microwave. It’s like 90 second rice and they even have it in organic. Then I would just make the meal accordingly. I actually made this tonight and it was quick and yummy!
I made this last night and it was delicious! I had a large bone-in chicken breast so I took the skin off and removed the bones and took what was left and sliced it into 4 pieces. I followed the reciped almost exactly but used 3/4 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of heavy cream. There were two of us and we each had one piece of chicken for dinner and then each made a sandwich the next day with the other two pieces. This came together fairly quickly and would be something a bit glamorus to serve to company. I served it with rice pilaf which was a good combination. Thanks for the recipe.
Holy cow this is good!! I did make a few changes. I dredged the chicken in a mixture of flour and the listed spices before putting in the hot pan of butter. I used butter instead of oil and doubled the sauce using a 3:1 milk to heavy cream ratio and omitted the cornstarch. I also served sauce and chicken over noodles. It was soooo good!
Amina L Poe says
Delicious my family loved it I used heavy cream and added bow tie pasta and broccoli 👌
Cynthia West says
Loved this recipe! It is very versatile, too. I followed the recipe exactly when making it the first time and it was great. The second time I added a little white wine to the sauce, which gave it more of a chicken scampi flavor. I served it over linguine. Thanks so much for this great recipe!
Amazing – and amazingly easy. I used chicken thighs instead of breasts because I like them better.
I made this tonight for the fam’ and everyone loved it. So simple but really a nice spin on making chicken even tastier. My woman loves tarragon, so will have to try that variant next time.
Natalie Margaret Fittanto says
This recipe was quick, easy with simple ingredients already on hand. I used Italian Seasoning in place of other herbs. 2% milk. Served with mashed potatoes and seasoned broccoli. Next time I will serve with rice since tasting the sauce I automatically thought rice. LOL Cook daily and find beautiful recipes, but this one I thought deserved a comment. Easy, versatile with old school brillance. Kudos, Chef. 🙂
Made this tonight and we both loved it! Cut recipe in half for boyfriend and I and came out great ?
Thank you for this recipe! I couldn’t think of anything to make tonight and found this recipe. It looks and tastes like it took a whole lot more effort than it did; I usually tweak recipes, but I didn’t feel I needed to with this one and it came out great, and so easy! It is husband-approved. My 4 year old said it tastes really good too 🙂
Delish! I made it with bone in thighs and cooked them a bit longer. My husband loved it. Thanks for another great recipe.
Loved this chicken recipe! Made it for family lunch today and served it with potato salad my version without the eggs, instead I used chickpeas, it was sooo yummy!! Thanks will definitely make it again!
Chelsea DeNicholas says
This recipe was great! Instead of cornstarch and milk i made a roux with 1tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of flour and then used half and half. The only other changes I made were using fresh rosemary and adding mushrooms and a squeeze of lemon. Delish! Thanks for the recipe 🙂
Delicious! Even the kids loved it!
Becky L Lansdale says
Should I use a cast iron skillet?
Leslie McMillin says
I tried this today and it was AMAZING! I put it over cauliflower and fixed sauteed squash, zucchini, mushrooms, fresh green onions and fresh garlic ! Highly recommend !!!
Yum!! The addition of lemon really brightens it up! I recommend it.
Also this exact sauce recipe but instead of thyme and rosemary just add lemon and dill paired with salmon and potatoes is delicious too!
I made this recipe for the first time and it was a hit even though I forgot to add the cornmeal mixture… that was my fault but it was still tasty. Will make again and not forget this step.
Natasha Carriles says
I only had a quarter of almond milk left (long story), so.i threwin1/2 stick of cream cheese throwing in a quarter of cream and mozzarella cheese. Don’t know what the heck I just made but it might be good
Jessi a says
Made this recipe on a whim when I was pressed for time. Didn’t change a thing and my husband went back for seconds and said it was the best chicken/pasta dish I’ve made! Definitely adding it to the signature dishes list!
Can I make the sauce ahead of time? I’m making this recipe for 80 people.
I know your question is from nearly a year ago and you’ve probably already made your meal for 80, but…
Since you’ll want to get all the delicious flavors from cooking the chicken into the sauce I’d suggest making the sauce ahead of time, and putting it in the fridge. When you cook the chicken deglaze the pan & add those juices into the sauce & give it a good stir. (Don’t deglaze with too much broth or water, you don’t want your sauce runny.)
My boyfriend and I are currently living in a 400sq.ft. apartment with no kitchen (we have a single hot plate and a microwave), so I am constantly on the lookout for easy one-pot/pan recipes. I’ve made this recipe twice now and it is seriously SO good, SO quick and SO easy. With a little rice and steamed broccoli, it’s a deliciously filling and satisfying weeknight meal!
Bobby L says
This is so darn good. Didn’t change a thing and it came out fantastic. Nice consistency to the sauce. I used thin chicken breasts and they browned nice and the flavor from the spices was a perfect balance. I used whole milk for the sauce. It’s definitely a keeper!
Jasmin Isip says
This recipe is a keeper! I tweaked some ingredients like substituting cream instead of milk, used quick melt cheese than parmesan (i can’t find any to my local stores at the moment) and I added some spinach. My husband love it so much!! ? Thank you for sharing this. This recipe is a keeper ❤️
Cheese? I don’t see it listed as an ingredient for the recipe…
You say you substituted the parm for quick melt cheese…. But this recipe didn’t have cheese in it ?. Although it sounds like it would be delicious with cheese and spinach.
As usual you have given us a delicious recipe. I used coconut milk. Thank you!!
Of course I made this on a night my husband can’t have it!!! Ooooo more for me. Yummy! This was sooo easy to make and OMG delish!!! I made it with baked garlic broccoli. No other carbs. My tummy is on strike. Anyway…. I absolutely LOVE it!!! So easy and soo delish. I made it for one…. I did two chicken breasts but the full sauce. Yummy yummy. I think if I did again for one with the regular amount of sauce I would add mushrooms. Gotta add more calcium. Hehehe. I will definitely make this again.
I made this last night and it was fantastic. I was craving rice with sauce and came up with this. All 4 family members loved it. Next time I might try adding a squeeze of lemon as suggested by another person. Thank you.
I made this earlier in the week, and the flavor was great! I was disappointed that the sauce didn’t thinken much…should I just add more cornstarch next time if I want it thicker?
I am making it again this week for a dinner party, and I am adding mushrooms. I am also considering truffle oil. Not sure I am that brave though!
Absolutely! Sounds delicious, Maria!
if your sauce does keep coming out thin I suggest adding more cornstarch or even adding butter and flour in the pan while roasting the garlic so that it comes out more as a gravy look up Roux recipes.!
This helped a ton. Thanks!!
I found adding a little instant mashed potatoes to any type of cream sauce, or gravy, will thicken it without changing flavor..
Could i use heavy cream instead of milk possibly or will that not turn out well?
that should work too!
Of course, that would be great!
This recipe was so good! I added a little bit of lemon zest and juice to the sauce and it tasted amazing!
Substituted coconut milk for diary free option and arrowroot powder slurry for thickener . It was great! I love all your recipes I’ve made thus far
Karina it’s absolutely amazing !! Can i replace parsley ? what subtitute for parsley ? Cause i dont have it noww…
Yes, any other herb that you are in favor of should work.
The video didn’t show you adding cornstarch to the sauce. Is it required?
Yes, you will want the cornstarch to help thicken it up. Hope you enjoy it! XO
Wow it is so perfect
This was absolutely delicious! Both my husband and adult son loved it. So very good and super easy to make.
Such a delicious recipe!! Can’t wait for my family to try it when they get home!! Thank you for a simple yet super delicious recipe!!!
This was fantastic! I found it to be more of a gravy.. So like any comfort food.. I put it on top of mashed potatoes, with a veg side. Yum!
I made this for our family today, and it’s simple and delicious. I used tarragon instead of rosemary. Everyone loved it!!! It’s a keeper!
That is a great substitute! Thank you so much for sharing with me and choosing one of my recipes! XO
This is a winner! I added spinach and sun dried tomatoes. DELICIOUS! I was going to use lemon like someone else posted but I forgot it. Will definitely add next time. Thanks for sharing!
Catherine Baker says
This recipe is quick, easy and delicious. I made this yesterday and everyone raved about it. Thank you, I can’t wait to try more of your recipes!
Can you use buttermilk for the cream?
Pam B says
Great recipe! Being lactose intolerant I used lactose free milk. (regular milk just no lactose!) I thought the next time I make it, I may saute some mushrooms in the herb/garlic oil before I add the milk.
I made the sauce only last night, to go with chicken that I was already cooking. It was amazing. Instead of the dried herbs I used fresh. I didn’t have corn starch, but flour worked just fine. I tossed it with pasta. This will definitely be my go to recipe to add wow to plan old chicken.
Shelby Crank says
2nd time making this and it is absolutely amazing!!!! My new favorite way to eat chicken! The only thing I did differently this time around was make extra sauce (which is amazing) and poured it all over some penne pasta, then topped with some Parmesan ❤️ This recipe is seriously to die for and I am sooo glad I found it!
Where do I get the actual recipe?
Hi Nancy, thank you for your comment! We had a frustrating technical issue that has just now been resolved and all recipes are showing once again. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. If you need any further help, please email us and we will assist you in any way we can. Thank you for your patience! XOXO
bruce kerr says
thanks, what gives it the red color in the recipe picture, doesn’t quite look like paprika?
The red is the crispiness from the skillet cooking the chicken. You are welcome to add in any extra seasoning that you think is best for it though. Thanks so much for following along with me! XO
This looks delicious and I plan to get all the ingredients to make it tomorrow. Would the sauce taste good over mashed potatoes?
That is a great idea! I think this sauce is spoonful licking kind of good! lol. Let me know how it turns out! Thanks so much for choosing one of my recipes!
I did it and it tasted sooooooo good!
This recipe is AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing it! I’ll definitely be making it again. If I wanted to make it in a crockpot, would I want to increase the seasonings and milk a little bit to compensate for the extra cooking time? Thanks in advance ?
This was amazing!! Kids loved it. I made 8 pieces. (There is 6 of us and 4 are teenaged boys) Cooked 4 at a time then put them all in the sauce and tossed them. Served with seasoned noodles and cooked carrots. This will be added to the keep recipes. Thank you for sharing!
This was absolutely stunning! And super quick and easy to make. Didn’t have the garlic or onion powder, so I made some the night before. Also cooked the chicken breasts a little bit longer (10 minutes on each side on medium heat) as they were very big ones.
Instead of the rosemary and thyme, I used fresh parsely and coriander. And then we had it with roast potatoes and sauteed bell peppers and broccoli.
Definitely going to make this again!
You made garlic and onion powder the night before? How did you do that? I’d love to know how to make it myself.
Your recipes are wonderful. Could you also include some low-fat recipes, thank you 🙂
This was awesome! My picky eaters loved it. Quick to make too. I did change recipe a bit. I used thin chicken breasts, and poultry seasoning. I also added herbed cream sheese and added it to the half and half. Not good if you are watching calories or fat intake. The sauce was so good that next time I’m doubling the amounts.
Tymeron Smith says
YAY! That is exciting! I am so glad that you loved it and made it your own! Thanks for sharing your substitutions!
This was so good! Made it twice in the past week! Used fresh basil and tomatoes when cooking the sauce. Came out great! Thank you!
My picky kids loved it!
Made it exactly as the recipe was listed and it was fantastic! I thought us sounded a bit boring but these spices were great together. When the kids go back for seconds you know it’s good. Served with an grautin potatoes and green beans. May double the sauce next time and serve with rice. Yum!
Delicious recipe–but I really wish that this and other recipes included more specific information about weight of ingredients, I bought 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts at my supermarket at a weight of 2.4 lbs–way more than 2 servings for most families, and generous for 4. I split them lengthwise for this recipe and still couldn’t get them to fit comfortably in a 12 inch skillet–so half the number of chicken breasts, and two iterations in the skillet. It’s the same thing with pork recipes–a single pork chop can be anywhere from 4 to 16 ounces–hubs and I love to grill one of those large ones and split it.
Holy cow! This recipe was SO good! I made this for my family last night and it came out amazing! I love that it was a recipe I already had the ingredients for and it only took like 30 min. It was good with mashed potatoes, but I could also see it going great with pasta! Thank you! Two thumbs up!
What all do the nutrition facts include? Just the chicken breast and sauce?
It was super freaking delicious and I plan on making it a lot!
All ready to make this chicken but is it spicy or what.Plz let me know I want to make it for iftar tomorrow.
I loved loved loved this recipe! So easy and so good. Once the sauce was done and I had it on simmer I let the chicken soak in the sauce for a good 5-10 minutes. The chicken was moist and so flavorful. Definitely will make it again.
Ok I made this for my kids for dinner (my adult lids) and it was a big hit. My son is a picky eater and he said “it’s a keeper.” 🙂 I will definitely make this again. I think it’s up there with Rachel Ray’s 30 minute meals.
My hubby and I made this last night!! Absolutely DELISH!!! One suggestion for next time…DOUBLE THE GRAVY!!! It was amazing tho…served over Penne Riggate!
Suzanna @ Mama Motivates says
We tried this last night and it is delicious! It’s definitely a recipe we we will be keeping in our repertoire. Thanks for sharing it!
This was so good! Not a drop left! Definitly going to make this again my boyfriend and I loved it!
made this for my boyfriend and i tonight and it was amazing i used heavy cream instead and also added a little chicken broth to the sauce . i used minced garlic instead of fresh and i also had a rosemary garlic seasoning that i also used it was great! i served with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach !
Liz Smith says
Made this for my family tonight and the girls said 5 stars but my very picky son said 2 1/2 stars. But he’s the hardest person in the world to please. So I thinks it’s a winner winner chicken dinner. ?
Easy and SO TASTY!! Made the whole picky family lick their plates. Yummie! Served it with hackelback potatoes and green beans
I made this tonite Katrina and my boyfriend who wasn’t that hungry ate a whole large breast and a cup of cooked rice that I served with the sauce over it. Absolutely delicious! I wish I could post a photo! I used half and half instead of milk. I also added a lil parmasan cheese to the sauce as I saw someone else who commented did. I also snuck in about a tablespoon of butter to the sauce too. Awesome recipe!!!
This was fantastic, we loved the flavors. And as you said, it was easy to prepare! It tasted like something from a fancy restaurant! I’ll definitely make this again!
Love this recipe! However, I never cook with corn starch so I’m blaming the odd taste on that. Can someone agree that I may have messed up somewhere along the way? It was such an odd taste. I can’t get rid of the taste. Almost soapy? Ugh. I can’t wait to try this again.
Linda Sabo Chalk says
Is it possible you used cilantro instead of parsley? Some sense a soapy taste with cilantro
This recipe looked delicious! I’m going to make it this week! What would you recommend serving with it??
Mrs C5 says
Oh my word, this is FABULOUS!! Only had thighs, and holy cow, that was so good! Thanks for a simple, hearty, QUICK meal! Definitely keeping this in the rotation! Bless you –
Deana Jordan says
Very yummy and tender!
Made this last night for dinner… was so good! Made my house smell amazing! Will definitely be making this again. I didn’t get that thick sauce consistency because I used 2% milk, but I might use heavy cream next time.
So good, so fast, and so easy. Kids loved it. I was surprised that it was so good. I used 3/4 c milk with 1/4 c half and half.
This was absolutely delicious! The whole family loved it so much we had it twice in the same week. Even my picky eater asked for seconds! I did use basil and oregano instead because I was out of thyme. This will definitely be added to our normal meal rotation.
Made this for dinner tonight and oh my word this blessed my soul!! I should have turned the heat down when I started the sauce, but it was a great accident. The herbs browned a bit which made the sauce brown instead of the creamy color and it tasted like skillet gravy! Yum! Making this again…and again!
I did it ! But i substitute milk with heavy cream and put some parmesan as a finish. it came out greatt ! Thank you ! Finally i’m eating real food!
This is my favorite dish and it came out great! I’m making it again tonight. Keep up the great work!
Made this for dinner tonight and it came out great, loved the sauce and served with rice and broccoli. Will make again, thanks for the recipe!
The recipe says use dried, but in your pictures, it looked like you used fresh herbs. Can you specify how much to use fresh? I have a bunch of fresh Rosemary and Thymes.
Hi Katherine. I used fresh to garnish with and dried to cook with. If using fresh, up the measurements to 2 tablespoons per herb.
Holiday months are crazy around my house, so with little time to cook I needed something simple & fast but also delicious & just elegant enough for a dinner party this close to Christmas. Well…it was fabulous – probably the best meal I’ve had in a long long time. I served it over fettuccini & I doubled the sauce cause why not? Calories don’t count this month lol. And 30 min to plate? Holy cow! My guests raved about for hours!
Sounds WONDERFUL!!!! I use “low fat evaporated milk. Nice & creamy but reduces the calories & fat
I don’t usually write reviews, but this recipe definitely deserves one. Simple, easy, & delicious. My family thought it was amazing!! Definitely making this again soon.
A five star meal in five minutes, Love it!!
Just wanted to ask if you used milk or cream in this recipe?
Bethany @ Athletic Avocado says
Now this is what I call a winner winner chicken dinner! Yes to all the creaminess and easiness!
I would like to try your recipe but onion powder is not available where i am. They just stopped making or stocking it. What would be a suitable substitute? and could i use coconut milk? Thank you 🙂
